The T-20 format of cricket began in 2007 as a form of evening entertainment.

Hong Kong and Nepal came face-to-face in the 2nd match of Group A in 2014 ICC World Twenty20 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong, on 16th March 2014. Hong Kong won the toss and elected to field first and Nepal scored 149 runs with 8 wickets down in 20 overs. Nepalese Batsman G Malla played a 48 runs innings in 41 balls with 4 boundaries and a six. Hong Kong, while chasing the target in the second innings, lost all their 10 wickets under just 69 runs in 17 overs. Nepalese bowler SP Gauchan took 3 wickets in his 4-over spell while yielding just 9 runs with an economy rate of 2.25. Nepal won the Twenty20 match by 80 runs and SP Gauchan was declared player of the match for his wonderful bowling performance.

9. Australia – by 81 runs (v Sri Lanka)

Australia and Sri Lanka came face-to-face in the 20th match of Group F in 2010 ICC World Twenty20 at Kensington Oval Ground, Bridgetown, on 9th May 2010. Australia won the toss and chose to bat first and scored 168 runs with 5 wickets lost in 20 overs. Australian Batsman CL White played a marvelous 85 runs innings in 49 balls with 6 boundaries and 6 over-boundaries. Sri Lanka, while chasing the target in the second innings, lost all their 10 wickets under just 87 runs in 16.2 overs. Australian bowler MG Johnson took 3 wickets in his 3.2-over spell while conceding just 15 runs with an economy rate of 4.50. Australia won the Twenty20 match by 81 runs and CL White was declared player of the match for his leading batting performance.

8. Sri Lanka – by 82 runs (v Zimbabwe)

Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe came face-to-face in the 1st match of Group C in 2012 ICC World Twenty20 at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Sooriyawewa, on 18th September 2012. Zimbabwe won the toss and selected to field first and Sri Lanka scored 182 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. Sri Lankan Batsman KC Sangakkara played a 44 runs innings in 26 balls with 2 boundaries and a six. Zimbabwe, while chasing the target in the second innings, lost all their 10 wickets under just 100 runs in 17.3 overs. Sri Lankan bowler BAW Mendis took 6 wickets in his 4-over spell out of which 2 overs were maidens while giving just 8 runs with an economy rate of 2.00. Sri Lanka won the Twenty20 match by 82 runs and BAW Mendis was declared player of the match for his marvelous bowling performance.
