This Belgian winger had a horrible campaign last year as it wasn’t until the 23 April to score his first league goal. but now that he is in the game, he’s got off to a flying start this term. Hazard had two goals in his first three appearances for the 5-times Premier League Champion Chelsea that season. This showed the flair and excellence that was the reason for him being the PFA Player of the Year for the session of 2014/15. Hazard’s win was not yet official and yet he had been voted the best player of the first few games of the season by fans, with a panel of former footballers and managers to cast the deciding vote. This was certainly a great victory for the Welsh star, who had scored 19 goals in a breakout season that helped him transform from the winger into the out-and-out goal scorer. He was the last man to earn both the PFA award and a league winners’ medal and that too in the same season as Ryan Giggs, which was in 2009. Greth Bale’s enormous success made him only the third player ever to win both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards. Apart from him, Cristiano Ronaldo and Andy Gray pulled off the feat in the years 2007 and 1977 respectively.

“It’s a massive honour,” said the 23-year-old in an interview. He further added “When you look at the list of winners there are some massive names on it but I couldn’t have done it without the team. They have been fantastic this year and so has the manager. I couldn’t have won it without them.”
