We are looking back at some of the greatest Real Madrid players of all time. And we are doing this by dividing the players into various eras. We started with looking back at the greatest players before 1930 in our first article and the second list followed the greatest lists from the 1930s-1950s.

Born on 6th April, 1935, this midfielder represented Real Madrid in 96 matches, where he scored 32 goals. Although his stint with the club lasted only two years, but that didn’t stop him from leaving a mark. There is hardly any other player in Real Madrid history that can boast of more wins than him in only two years.

9. Jose Vicente (1960 – 1964)

Next up at number 9 on our list of 10 greatest Real Madrid players from 1960s-1970s era comes Jose Vicente. This Spanish footballer played for 4 years for the club, representing it in 100 matches. This legendary goalkeeper was born on 19th December 1931. Due to his ability to block the ball on the first attempt without giving the forward player an opportunity to rebound, he was given the nickname ‘The Staple’. During his tenure with the club, his team won four Spanish League, three Zamora Trophy, two Spanish Cup and an Intercontinental Cup.

8. Gunter Theo Netzer (1974 – 1976)

The eighth greatest Real Madrid player from 1960s-1970s era is Gunter Theo Netzer. In his two year career with the club, he scored 13 goals from the 100 matches that he played for the club. Gunter was born on 14th September, 1944. This German midfielder was voted as voted as Footballer of the Year in Germany twice, in 1972 and 1973. His ball passing skills is still regarded as one of the best in the history of the game. His skills led to two La Liga wins for the club. Need we say more?
