Real Madrid vs Manchester City match ends with a draw after an average display
In a much-awaited match of Champions League, Real Madrid came face to face with Manchester City at the Etihad. This was the first time that Manchester City had reached this stage of the competition, and it was their first semi-final since 1971. Real, on the other hand, were in the last four of the competition for a record 27th time, and were looking for their 11th European Cup this season. So the Real Madrid vs Manchester City match began amidst much speculation.

The match began amidst a wonderful atmosphere, and Man City had a decent start, as they started enjoying most of the possession. In the 4th min, Kroos delivered the first corner of the match into the Man City box, but Kompany made the clearance. Bale attacked Clichy down the right moments later, and a challenge followed. As minutes went by, the Real Madrid vs Manchester City match kept turning out to be an energetic one, with Otamendi, Femandinho, Casemiro, Bale, and the other giving their best for either team. But, nothing extraordinary happened for almost half an hour. In the 24th min, a half chance came for Real Madrid, but Bale’s efforts fell through. This was followed by Pepe being booked for his late challenge on De Bruyne.

Pepe cleared another good delivery by De Bryune who continues to play brilliantly. The match continued, and in the 38th min, Silva got booked for a late challenge on Bale. At the end of 45 min during which nothing too significant happened to change the score, 2 extra minutes were added, during which Pepe set Benzema up inside the Man City Box, but the strike went over the box. The next minute, Bale went down inside the box under a challenge by Otamendi, and there was a call for a penalty, but the referee didn’t seem interested. Kroos failed to beat the first man from a corner and then stood in an offside position when the ball recycled. Real seemed to be growing lacklustre. While the home team played a more confident match, none of the teams enjoyed too much of an advantage.

With a little over 20 min left of the match, Carvajal found Jese with a super cross into the Man City box, but the header hit the crossbar and dropped behind. Bale then curled a super strike which went wide of Hart’s post. It was a close call for Real. In the 80th min, Hart got down to keep out Casemiro from another Kroos corner. With less than 10 min left of the match, Bale’s free kick went straight to the wall. As Pepe got the ball, he tried to net it, but Hart was there to stop him.
At the end of 90 min of the Real Madrid vs Manchester City match, 2 extra minutes got added, during which Carvajal got booked for a late challenge on De Bruyne, and Navas tipped a De Bruyne free kick over the crossbar.
