Los Blancos makes surprise turnaround in Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano match

Real Madrid faced Rayo Vallecano in the La Liga match on Saturday. Real came to the ground aiming to rise above Atletico Madrid and Barcelona into the first position in the table. Rayo on the other hand, aimed to gain the points to fight off the threat of relegation in the final weeks of the campaign. So, both the teams had a lot at stake in the Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano match. The biggest concern, however, was that Los Blancos star Cristiano Ronaldo would not be playing in the match.

In the 14th min, Miku fired home from close range after Real failed to defend a corner from the right. Rayo scored its second goal before 15 min had gone by! Pepe was seen blocking a long-range strike from Embarba. Bebe seemed to show great form on the field, and so did Danilo. A great chance came their way in the 23rd min, as Embarba made a wonderful strike, but Navas was there to stop it. It seemed like Benzema, Bale and the other stars of Real could do a little more for their team, and Ronaldo’s presence was definitely being missed.

In the 28th min of the Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano match, Navas made another great save to keep out a swerving strike from Bebe. As the match reached its 30th min, Marcelo found the head of Bale with a deep cross, but it was comfortable for Carlos who dropped to the knees and made the save. It seemed like Real desperately needed to score on goal before the first half to maintain stability. In the 35th min, Bale met a Kroos corner, and his header dropped into the opposite side of the net. Bale scored the first goal for Real, quieting the fans of the home team. The 2nd half of the match began, and the two teams seemed to be playing with renewed vigour. Kovacic drove through the Rayo midfield and looked to pick out a pass into Bale, but Amaya, stepped across to make the challenge, before Vasquez failed to find Bale from the opposite side. The Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano match continued, and in the 52nd min, Vasquez received a cross from Danilo, and headed in straight to the back of Rayo’s net, scoring the equalizer for Real! Isco stood over a free kick outside the Rayo box but missed the target.

With just half an hour left of the match, a chance can in the way of Real Madrid, as Bale delivered a wonderful cross towards the opponent’s box, but Vasquez failed to add the right touch to the ball to send it into the box. The pressure of the match started to become more and more visible on the two teams. Kovacic of Real Madrid and Iturra from Rayo got booked for their late challenge on Embarba and Vasquez respectively. This was followed by the bookings of Trashorras from Rayo for dissent, and of Amaya for a late challenge on Bale. The last move also earned Real a free kick from a dangerous position, but Bale’s strike went to the wall. But, he avenged it within a couple of minutes, as he sent a wonderful strike into the Rayo box, thus helping Real take the lead with their 3rd goal. Rat from Rayo got booked for a late challenge on Modric.

After the incredible turnaround of Real Madrid, it seemed that they had sealed the deal, and the last minutes went by, without much to report. At the end of the 90 min, 4 extra min were added, during which, there was hardly any big change to the match’s score. At the end of the Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano match came to its end, with the scoreboard reading Rayo Vallecano 2-3 Real Madrid. It was amazing how the Los Blancos changed the match in their favour with about 10 min left in hand!
