We start our list of Top 10 Asian Football Clubs 2016 with Qatari Football club Al Sadd. It is located in the Al Sadd district of Doha. It is locally named as ‘Al Zaeem’ meaning the ‘The Boss’. They became the first Arab club side to triumph in the Asian Club Championship by defeating Al Rasheed of Iraq on an aggregate of away goals. In 2006,  they again won the Asian Champions League, earning a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup. They finished third, becoming the first West Asian side to claim third place in the competition. Al Sadd have won the Qatari League a massive 13 times.

Johor Darul Ta’zim is a Malayisan club based on the city Johor Bahur. Nicknamed  as ‘Southern Tigers’, Johor has won the 2015 Malaysian Super League and AFC Champions Cup. After a  turmoil in the early 2000s about the management of  the club presently it is being managed by Johor FA. Johor also gets regular funds from Sultan of Johor.
