Badminton is considered as one of the top games in international level and also one of the major events of any Olympics since it was inducted as an Olympic event. The BWF World Championship is considered as the highest level international badminton championship, and together with Olympic Games, offers the most ranking points but mysteriously does not offer any prize money. 10. Parupalli Kashyap:
We start our list of Badminton Players 2016 with Indian Parupalli Kashyap. Kahyap holds the 10th position with 56,541 points in the year end. He has 2 titles in the Grand Prix.
He created history by reaching the Quarterfinals of men’s singles at 2012 London Olympics, being the only male player from India to do so. At the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, he won the gold medal in men’s singles. Kashyap was the Icon Player for the Indian Badminton League team, Banga Beats in 2013 edition.

9. Son Wan-Ho:
Playing at number 9 in our list of Badminton Players 2016, we have South Korean international Son-Wan Ho. He has 57,735 points in his tally. Son wan is coached by the South Korean former Olympic badminton player, Shon Seung-Mo. He plays primarily defensively. His best ranking was 4th position in November, 2014.

8. Wang Zhengming:
At number 8 in our list of Badminton Players 2016, we have Chinese international Wang Zhengming. Wang is the first chinese counterpart to enter into the list. He ended the year with 60,190 points. He has 2 individual titles in his tally including a Silver medal in 2010 Asian Championship and 2 Gold medals in East Asian Championship.

7. Chou Tien-chen:
Riding high on number 7 on our list of Badminton Players 2016, we have another Chinese counterpart Chou Tien-chen. Chou ended his year with 60,818 points. Having won 7 titles throughout his career, his highest achievment was the Bronze medal in the 2014 Ineochen Asian Games.

6. Viktor Axelsen:
At number 6 in our list of Badminton Players 2016, we have Danish international Viktor Axelsen. With 61,149 points to his tally at the end of the year Viktor slipped a position from 5th to 6th last year.
He was the 2010 World Junior Champion, beating Korea’s Kang Ji-wook in the final to become the first ever European player to hold the title. Bagging 4 Golds, 3 Silvers and 1 Bronze throughout his total career, Axelsen is termed as one of the greatest European Badminton players.

5. Kento Momota:
The surprise contender in our list of Badminton Players 2016 is Japanese ‘Samurai’ Kento Momota. Kento Momota was incredible in raising his position in some few months from 9th to 5th. This 20 years of age Japanese have 2 world Junior Championship and 4 title. His points tally at the end of the year is 65,103.

4. Lin Dan:
The number 4th position in our list of Badminton Players 2016 is Lin Dan famously nicknamed “Super Dan”. He is a two-time Olympic champion, five-time world champion, and five-time All England champion.
Considered by many to be the greatest singles player of all time, Lin had completed the “Super Grand Slam”, having won all nine major titles in the badminton world: Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cup, Thomas Cup, Sudirman Cup, Super Series Masters Finals, All England Open, Asian Games, and Asian Championships, becoming the first and only player to achieve this feat. He also became the first men’s singles player to retain the Olympic gold medal by winning in 2008 and defending his title in 2012.

3. Srikanth Kidambi:
The bronze medalist in our list of Badminton Players 2016, is Indian Shuttler, Srikanth Kidambi. He has 4 titles to his name, 2013 Thailand Open, 2014 China Open, 2015 Swiss Open, 2015 Indian Open. Srikanth started his career at 2011 in 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games and so far have 4 individual title with 2 grand prix. He trains at the Gopichand Badminton Academy, Hyderabad and is supported by the GoSports Foundation, Bangalore.
2. Jan Jorgensen:
The silver medalist in our list of Badminton Players 2016 is Danish Jan Jorgensen. He is the current European Champion, besides having the honor to become the only European player who has won Indonesia Open. Jan has 73,987 for his 2nd place his highest ranking in his career as well.
He won the bronze medal at the 2008 European Badminton Championships and 2012 European Badminton Championships and the silver medal at the 2010 European Badminton Championships. He was the runner up at 2009 China Open Super Series and won Denmark Open in 2010, French Open in 2013, Indonesia Open in 2014.

The winner in our list of Badminton Players 2016 is Chinese international Chen Long. He has won the Bronze medal in 2012 Olympic Games and back to back Gold in 2014, 2015 World Championships in Jakarta, Copenhagen. He is an Olympic Bronze medalist, two-time World Champion, and two-time All England champion.
