Young Indian batsman hits two double centuries in three matches
18 year old young Indian batsman Aditya Garhwal has raised a lot of eyebrows in these days with his blistering batting display at the ongoing Vinoo Mankad trophy. He made 671 runs in his last three matches with scores 263*, 196 and 212.
Aditya who plays for Rajashthan, blasted 263 in just 151 balls against Railways which is considered as a remarkable feat as it was a 50-over match. During his innings he smashed 22 fours and 18 sixes. Garhwal’s knock even caught the eye of Virender Sehwag who expressed his feelings in twitter after impressed with the efforts of this teenager.
After that he repeated the same form in the next match against Madhya Pradesh where he scored a splendid 196 just missing the double century by 4 runs. He made this score with the help of 19 fours and 7 sixes, which is quite a feat considering the boundaries at the University ground in Noida are bigger than most international stadiums in the country.
After the knock speaking to ESPN cricinfo Garhwal said: “Last year, some of my friends had started teasing me that I was only a days’ cricket batsman and not a one-day batsman, so I was determined to prove them wrong.”
Now in the last match he has scored a 132-ball 212, this time against Vidarbha in the same tournament. Numerous cricketers from India are being surprised with the batting of Aditya Garhwal as Akash Chopra, the former Indian opening batsman twitted, “Aditya Garhwal is becoming a wonder kid of sorts…two double centuries and a 196 in Vinoo Mankad. It’s a 50-overs tournament.”
Now news came that following his double century against Vidarbha, Suresh Raina has now, added to the hype surrounding the wonder-kid by gifting him an autographed bat.
