David Josué Jiménez Silva, famously known as just David Silva, currently plays as a central midfielder for the English Premier League club Manchester City besides participating regularly for the Spanish national football team. Silva started his football journey while joining the youth academy system of his native club UD San Fernando in 1995, at the age of just 9. He initially started his career as a goalkeeper and eventually moved to the wing position. After five seasons of training at San Fernando, he joined the academy system of Valencia CF in 2000, at the age of 14.
