The 13-member FIFA delegation team visited India from 19th October to 25th October 2016 to evaluate the progress of the venues. Salt Lake Stadium, officially known as the Yuba Bharati Krirangan, is located in Kolkata-West Bengal, and is the largest stadium in India by capacity. With its 85,000 capacity, this stadium is also the home ground of Indian National Football team. Salt Lake Stadium covers an area of 76.40 acres and features three tiers of galleries. It generally uses an artificial turf but switched to natural grass as the preparations for hosting the 2017 U-17 World Cup. This stadium was designed by India’s legendary architect Hafeez Contractor and officially opened its gate to the public on 4th March 2008. The entire DY Patil Stadium has bucket seats and cantilever roofs. Besides the main ground, the stadium complex also houses 9 tennis courts, 4 badminton courts and an Olympic sized swimming pool. It is one of the largest stadium in India and also one of the biggest FIFA U17 World Cup Stadiums 2017. Besides hosting numerous national and international matches, this stadium is also the home ground of Kerala cricket team and the Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters FC.  Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium is also known as one of the noisiest stadiums in the world and hosted several important cricket matches besides football.
