FIFA U17 World Cup Teams 2017 is the details of participating teams India, Iraq, Iran, Japan, North Korea, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, United States, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, New Caledonia, New Zealand, England, France, Germany, Spain and Turkey in the U17 Cup.

The main structure of the U17 football World Cup since the inception in 1985 consists of group stage matches which advance to the final through the knockout phases. Four teams in each group play against each other and try their best to get the top position of that group. There were 16 teams in the U17 World Cup divided into four groups of four teams each from 1985 to 2005. During that time the top two teams of each group advanced to the quarterfinals directly. But since 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup, there was another stage added between the group stage and the quarterfinal, which is the Round of 16. The tournament expanded from 16 teams to 24 teams divided into six groups of four teams each. The top two teams of each group along with four best scoring third place teams advance to the round of 16. Besides the U17 World Cup hosting nation India, 23 FIFA U17 World Cup Teams will participate in the 2017 edition of the tournament starting from 6th October. 4 teams from AFC (Asia), 4 teams from CAF (Africa), 4 teams from CONCACAF (Central, North America and Caribbean), 4 teams from CONMEBOL (South America), 2 teams from OFC (Oceania), 5 teams from UEFA (Europe) and the hosting nation India are the FIFA U17 World Cup 2017 Qualified teams.

Defending Champion Nigeria will not participate in the 2017 edition of the tournament as they failed to qualify from the 2017 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations competitions. They became the only team after Switzerland to remain unqualified in the tournament as the defending champion.

Iraq [AFC-Asia]

Iraq won the AFC U-16 Championship in 2016 and qualified as the first team from Asia to participate in the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup. Costa Rica [CONCACAF]
