If the opportunity for Crouch to move to Chelsea presents itself, and he hoes there for six months, then it will be a fair deal for Crouch, according to Lampard. He admits that even other players of the same standard as Crouch are not really permanent options for Chelsea, and mentioned that he is like a short-term option, or a Plan B for the team, because the team has some obvious issues with the number of goals they have scored recently, and hence, they are currently in a place where they are n urgent need to make some changes. But, Lampard thinks that the January transfer window is the correct time to enforce such changes.
