Getafe Club de Fútbol, or just Getafe, was founded in 1946 and currently plays their home games at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez. Getafe 0-0 Atletico Madrid [12.08.2017 – International Friendly]

Getafe competed against Spanish giant Atletico Madrid in an international friendly as the warm up game of season 2017-18. Both the team started quite aggressively but failed to score any goal in the first half. Getafe‘s manager tried some new placements and substituted 4 players in the 70th minute and then again substituted 3 players in the 79th minute. The match ended as a goalless draw.

Getafe 0-0 Athletic Bilbao [20.08.2017 – La Liga]

Getafe played their first game of La Liga 2017-18 against Athletic Bilbao. Getafe tried to create some early pressure on the opponent and Iker Muniain’s marvelous right footed shot was blocked in the 8th minute of the game. Athletic Bilbao’s Íñigo Lekue also missed some great chances of the goal in the first half. Juan Cala’s great attempt was also saved by the Athletic’s goalie in the second match and the game ended as a goalless draw.

Getafe 0-1 Sevilla [27.08.2017 – La Liga]

Sevilla started pretty well against Getafe in the La Liga match while creating several chances before the first half ended. Amath Ndiaye of Getafe also missed a great chance in the 17th minute of the game and Jorge Molina missed another in the 37th minute. Sevilla got their only goal from a left footed shot by Ganso from a through by Gabriel Mercado. Getafe failed to score any equalizer and the match ended in favor of Sevilla with 1-0 score.

Getafe 2-1 Leganes [08.09.2017 – La Liga]

Getafe got their first goal of La Liga match against Leganes in the 39th minute of the first half from a marvelous right footed shot by Mauro Arambarri from an assist by Jorge Molina. Miguel Ángel Guerrero of Leganes then scored the equalizer in the 65th minute of the game. Getafe then scored their second goal from a brilliant right footed shot by Álvaro Jiménez in the 83rd minute. The match ended in favor of Getafe with 2-1 score.

Getafe 1-2 Barcelona [16.09.2017 – La Liga]

Barcelona was the clear favourite, but Getafe surprisingly got the first goal of this La Liga game from Gaku Shibasaki’s brilliant strike in the 39th minute. Barcelona came up strong in the second half and Denis Suárez scored the first equalizer for Barcelona with a marvelous shot in the 62nd minute. The winning goal came from another awesomeness from Paulinho in the 84th minute and Barca won this La Liga game with 2-1 score.
