Tottenham will make Harry Kane the highest paid English footballer in the Premier League

Even after winning the Premier League golden boot for last two seasons consecutively, Tottenham star Harry Kane is still one of the less paid big names in the league. He scored 25 goals in season 2015-16 and then 29 goals in season 2016-17 in the Premier League, and already scored 18 goals in 20 matches this season. And besides being the highest scorer of the league, Kane also achieved several awards in last few years such as PFA Fans’ Player of the Year and FSF Player of the Year. But even after gaining so much attention, he is still underpaid while remaining loyal to the club. But now things are going to change as Tottenham will make him the highest paid English footballer in the Premier League with the increased weekly wage.

Kane is 35th in the list of Highest paid Premier League players

After the Premier League champion Manchester City offered their striker Raheem Sterling a whooping £180,000-a-week salary to make him the best paid Englishman, Tottenham now decided that they will increase Kane’s weekly salary to £200,000 to keep their striker in the squad. Currently Kane earns £110,000-a-week salary which is the 35th in terms of salary in the Premier League according to the recent statistical report published by Sportsmail last week. Besides the current £110,000-a-week salary, Harry Kane also has a good bonus structure which made him the top earner of the Tottenham Hotspur squad. But the weekly salary offered in the contract that the club has signed with Kane in December 2016 is quite less than many England players in the league.

Premier League’s current table topper Manchester City provides Kyle Walker around £130,000 per week where another Englishman Daniel Sturridge is earning £150,000-a-week salary at Liverpool. But as an interesting fact, Kane is currently earning quite same as Ashley Young at Manchester United even when there is a vast gap in the performance among these two. Harry Kane’s £110,000 weekly salary is quite mediocre when compared to the Premier League’s highest paid players like Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku who are earning around £290,000 and £250,000 per week respectively. Spurs usually rewards their top performer with a regular rise in the bonus but they usually stick to the contracted weekly wage. But Kane’s 56-goal haul in 2017 and the upward interest from super rich football clubs like Real Madrid is now forcing Tottenham to increase the weekly pay upto £200,000 to make him stay in the squad.
