German football talent Leon Goretzka currently plays as a midfielder for the Bundesliga club Schalke 04 besides making regular appearances for the Germany national football team. Goretzka started his footballing journey with the youth academy system of his native side Werner SV 06 Bochum in 1999, at the age of just four. After spending a season, he moved to the academy system of VfL Bochum in 2001. He went through a hardcore training session upon his arrival and the club, and quickly started earning his promotion through the youth squads.
