Spanish footballer Lucas Vazquez currently plays as the right winger of the La Liga club Real Madrid besides his regular participation for the Spain National football team. A product of Real Madrid youth, Vazquez achieved perfection through his training at the Youth Academy system from 2007 to 2010. Before that, he also took his early training from his native clubs Curtis and Ural. He started his professional football journey while playing for the Real Madrid C team in 2010. He then earned his promotion and became a permanent member of the Real Madrid B team from 2011 to 2015.

Vazquez made his senior team debut with Espanyol in 2014 on loan from Real Madrid. After playing 33 matches while scoring 3 goals, he proved himself as one of the best young talents of Spanish football. Through his awesome performance during the loan tenure, Vazquez earned his recall at the Real Madrid club. He made his debut for the club in 2015 and became a regular first-squad member gradually. Besides his club career, he also played for the Spanish national team since 2016.
Vazquez started his football journey with his native football academy C.C.D. Curtis at the age of just nine in 2000. He played for four seasons there before moving to youth academy system of Ural in 2004. He started training with the club and progressed through age groups till 2007. And finally, he earned his position at the youth academy system of Real Madrid in 2007 at the age of just 16. Vazquez promoted through several age-groups in the academy and proved himself worthy of the reserve team. He played at the academy from 2007 to 2010 before joining the reserve teams of Real Madrid.
Vazquez made his debut for the Real Madrid C team during the 2010-11 season. He helped his team to achieve the promotion of second division Spanish league with four goals in 23 games that he played. He made his first start the following season against La Roda CF on 25th February 2012. Vazquez then made his debut for the Real Madrid B team against Villarreal CF on 17th August 2012. He scored his first professional goal for his club against UD Las Palmas on 15th October 2012.
Vazquez transferred to La Liga side RCD Espanyol on a season-long loan on 19th August 2014. He then made his debut for Espanyol against Sevilla FC on 30th August 2014 as a substitute of Salva Sevilla. He went on to score his first goal for the club against Real Sociedad on 5th October 2014. As a fact, that goal was also his first ever goal in the Spanish top flight league – La Liga. Vazquez signed a four-year permanent contract with RCD Espanyol on 3rd June 2015. He has earned a reported transfer fee of €2 million through the deal.
Real Madrid recalled Lucas Vazquez from Espanyol on 30th June 2015 with the help of their buyback clause in the deal. He then made his debut for the Real Madrid first squad against his former club Espanyol on 12th September 2015. Vazquez made his first start for Los Blancos against Granada CF on 19th September 2015. Shortly after, he scored his first competitive goal for the club against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on 30th December 2015. He then made his European competitive debut in a 2016 UEFA Super Cup match against Sevilla FC on 9th August 2016. After an awesome streak of performance, Vazquez signed a new five-year-contract with Real Madrid on 26th October 2016. The deal could keep him at the Bernabéu till 2021.
Even after having unprecedented talent, Vazquez never played a single match for the Spanish national team at any youth levels. Surprisingly, one of the most successful football managers, Vicente del Bosque, called him for the UEFA Euro 2016 squad on 17th May 2016. He along with another two uncapped players Saúl Ñíguez and Sergio Rico earned their call-up under the new manager for the Euro campaign in France. Vazquez then made his international debut for the Spanish senior squad in a friendly match against Georgia at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on 7th June 2016. He made his competitive debut for his nation in a UEFA Euro 2016 match against Italy at the Stade de France on 27th June 2016.
Born in a small village of Curtis, Galicia, Vazquez is of pure Spanish descent. He was raised by his parents Tino Vasquez and Carmen Iglesias. He grew up in the Curtis neighbourhood while playing with his brother Mateo Vázquez during his childhood. Vazquez dated his long-time girlfriend and 26-year-old Spanish Physical Education graduate Macarena Rodriguez since 2012. After a five-year-long dating period, the couple got married on 18th June 2017.
The current market value of Vazquez stands at around £22.5 million as of 2018. His net worth now is estimated to be around £7.5 million. Vazquez earns £60,000 as his weekly wage from his current club Real Madrid. Besides his football income, he also made his fortune through his endorsement deal with Adidas.
Vazquez helped the Real Madrid Castilla squad to win the Segunda División B in the 2011-12 season. He then helped his club Espanyol to achieve great victories over their opponents.
