Barcelona mid-fielder Ivan Rakitic, who is considered as one of the most dependable players on the team, recently said that the Spanish player overpaid for Philippe Coutinho. One of the most talked about expensive transfers for the season has been of Coutinho, who has been brought to the La Liga from the English Premier League, and the club has agreed to pay £142 m for the switch. And the star midfielder of the team Ivan Rakitic thinks Barcelona have overpaid the new signing.

The Brazilian will be missing from the team squad for three week, as a result of his thigh injury. While the team’s followers are excited to have the Brazilian on the team, Croatian national Rakitic has suggested that the transfer fee to which Barca has agreed is a “bit high”.  After a change revelation of the transfer of Coutinho by Nike who sponsor the team kit of Barca, it has finally been made official that Coutinho is all set to complete his move to Camp Nou very soon. However, he will be seen on the field, participating in the action of Ernesto Valverde’s team, only three weeks later, and it is to be seen where he fits in on the team.

He might be seen vying with Rakitic for a spot in the midfield, and the Croatian player has discussed the arrival of the Brazilian at length, according to the reports of Liverpool Echo. He thinks that his opinion is not of importance in this case, but that has not stopped him from expressing his opinion that the price being paid for the Brazilian is a little on the higher side. However, he added that Barcelona will always welcome every good player, and offered his congratulations to the president of the club, as well as the other who have made the transfer of Coutinho possible. He mentioned that he considers the new player as part of the family now; hoping that the team members will enjoy playing with him, because he is now in the world’s the biggest soccer club.

Coutinho is the new signing of Barca

It is expected that Countinho will be a replacement of Andres Iniesta in the club for the long term.  Rakitic has appeared in 28 games for Barca in this season. He was in the central midfield role in 20 of those matches. However, this position is now earmarked for the new player, Coutinho.
