Raphaël Guerreiro is a professional soccer player who represents the national team of Portugal, as well as the the German club Borussia Dortmund. He mainly plays as left back, but he is sometimes seen as left midfielder, as well.

Raphaël Guerreiro was born in France, where he started his career as a footballer at Caen, and signed with Lorient in 2013, debuting in Ligue 1 with them. In June 2016, Guerreiro became part of Borussia Dortmund. He started representing U-21 of Portugal before joining the senior level, debuting in 2014 as part of the Euro 2016 squad.
Raphaël Guerreiro started his career at an extremely early age and played for three clubs. During his youth career, he played with Blanc-Mesnil from 1999 to 2005, with Clairefontaine from 2005 to 2008, and with Caen from 2008 to 2012.
He secured a place with Stade Malherbe Caen, and signed with the team in 2008 when he was just 14 years old. He then started out as a part of the senior team of Caen as a reserve. He went on to debut as a professional soccer player in the season of 2012–13, making appearances in all the matches, failing only once to start in a Ligue 2 display that ended with the team in the fourth place. He also became part of the Team of the Year.
In June 2013, Guerreiro made a move to Ligue 1, after he signed a contract of four years with FC Lorient. His debut Ligue 1 performance was in August, when he appeared for the entire 90 minutes of a match against Lille OSC, which ended in a 0–1 loss. In November 2014, he made his first goal goal for the team, as he opened the book for the team against Paris Saint-Germain F.C. who eventually went on to wiin the title, after Lorient’s 1–2 loss. He completed the campaign with 7 goals. During a Derby Breton in October 2015, he opened the scoring, and the match ended in a draw with Stade Rennais FC.
In June 2016, Guerreiro signed a contract of four years with Borussia Dortmund. His signing fee was reportedly €12 million i.e. £9.5 million. Thomas Tuchel, the coach of the team, had him deployed primarily as a midfielder. With him on the team, Borussia Dortmund lifted the DFB-Pokal trophy in the 2016–17 season.
Guerreiro got a call to be part of the U-21 team of Portugal, after he was spotted by the coaching staff of Rui Jorge. He made his debut in March 2013 n a match that ended in a 0–1 loss to Sweden. In November 2014, Fernando Santos gave him a call to join the full side for a qualifier of Euro 2016 against Armenia, as well as a friendly against Argentina. In November, he played against the former opponent, and gaining a 1–0 win, and made a goal in the last minute of the match against the latter. He came back to the U-21s in 2015 for the European Championship, and helped the team to end up in the second place. He was among five Portuguese players to be a part of the Team of the Tournament.
He got picked to become part of the main squad of the 2016 campaign of Euro, as he played for the entire 90 minutes in the first match which ended in a 1–1 draw with Iceland. Portugal won the competition, and they defeated France with a score of 1–0, the goal being scored in the extra time. He appeared in all the games of the competition, and received a Young Player of the Tournament Award nomination.
Raphaël Guerreiro was born in Le Blanc-Mesnil in Seine-Saint-Denis, France. His father is Portuguese, while his mother is French mother. For his youth career, which began when he was around 6 years old, he played with three teams, before he went on to start his senior career. In 2014, he mentioned that his support was for S.L. Benfica, but added that he had a dream of joining Real Madrid, to play beside favourite footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo. Rui Jorge, his manager at Portugal U21 manager, remembered him as an introverted person, who hardly knew how to speak the language when he was asked to join the team.
Raphael Guerreiro has a current market value of approximately £18 million, with an earning of £75,000 as his salary per week which he draws from his current club. However, his net worth has not been publicly disclosed. He has been seen using the shoe model X17+Sky Stalker since November 2017, in his social media posts. He endorses Adidas, though the amount he receives from the brand is not known.
