English Premier League Top Goal Scorers 2017/18

The football world has seen several great players scoring the most while winning the Premier League Golden Boot award in 25 seasons of EPL since Teddy Sheringham first won the trophy in the inaugural season of Premier League 1992-93. The top scorers’ list of premier league has a great versatility where several players scored the most in seasons more than one time in their Premier League career.

Sergio Agüero will definitely try his best to win the Premier League Golden Boot award this season.

Gabriel Jesus – Manchester City

The young Brazilian Striker with just 20 years of age,  is already making headlines for Manchester City for a wonderful frontline partnership with Sergio Aguero. He has already netted 4 goals with an amazing all-time 0.73 goals per match ratio. The former Palmieras striker is proving deadly for the Pep Guardiola’s side this season.

Romelu Lukaku – Manchester United

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is one of the only five players to score 50 goals in Premier League before attaining the age of 23. This marvelous player is the top scorer of Everton last season and is one of the main contenders of English Premier League Top Goal Scorers 2017/18. For Manchester United in this season, Romelu Lukaku has already scored 4 goals and fans are expecting he will be the key player in the success of Manchester United in the EPL season 2017-18.

Jamie Vardy – Leicester City

The Leicester City number 9 is a consistent goal machine with 4 goals in his 5 appearances this season. He even turned down a £20m move to Premier League rivals Arsenal. Most of his goals were scored after Shakespeare took charge. The Foxes boss knows how to get the best out of Vardy and that will be vital for Leicester this season.

Sadio Mane – Liverpool


This Senegal midfielder has proved to be outstanding for Liverpool and is filling up Coutinho’s void. He has already scored 3 goals in his 4 appearances for his team. Mane hit three goals in four league outings for Liverpool last month and was also awarded with the Premier League Best player of the month award. With a whopping 70% positive shooting accuracy, he is already one of the main contenders for the top goal scorer this season.

Alvaro Morata – Chelsea

The Spanish International has already scored 3 goals and 2 assists for Chelsea in his 4 appearances. He has arrived at Chelsea this season after spending last season with Real Madrid. Like Jesus, Morata has spent much of his career so far as second choice to other strikers. He now gets his chance to be the main man alongside Costa. He too will be the contender of the Golden Shoe this season.

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool

The Egyptian national and Liverpool forward Salah has scored 3 goals with 1 assist in his 5 appearances for Klopp’s side. Salah has been one of Roma’s best players for the last two and a half years after his transfer from Premier League reigning champions Chelsea.  He is set to make the Reds even more of a threat on the counter attack after having scored 15 Serie A goals last season with 11 assists.

Danny Welbeck – Arsenal

The Arsenal Forward has already scored 3 goals and 1 assist in his 4 appearances this season. Welbeck scored his first goal of the 2017–18 season in Arsenal’s 4–3 win over Leicester City in their opening Premier League match. He went on to score twice in the team’s second home match of the season, a 3–0 defeat of Bournemouth on 9 September. He is also looking upto a scoring future this season.

Dele Alli – Tottenham Hotspur

English midfielder Dele Alli is the most versatile youngster of Tottenham Hotspur and is expected to be one of the English Premier League Top Goal Scorers 2017/18. He scored has already scored 2 goals in his 5 appearances. He achieved the title of Premier League Player of the Month for January 2017. Besides his Premier League success, he also named as the best U21 talent in the football world in 2016 by FourFourTwo. Everyone is now looking forward to see his further performance in this season of 2017-18.

Marcos Alonso – Chelsea

This Spanish international is the only defender to be in this list for scoring 2 goals for Chelsea in his 4 appearances. Alonso was one of those wing-backs and the former Fiorentina man did a tremendous job scoring against Tottenham Hotspur giving them their first Premier League victory this season. He is said to be one of the best defenders with great attacking capabilities.
