There’s a reason for Chelsea to be scared – they might lose Eden Hazard to Real Madrid. In fact, they are already worried that one of the richest football clubs in the world, Real Madrid, has caught their player’s attention, after the Belgian refused the contract extension with the club. This was the second proposal for contract for the player by the club.
Eden Hazard says no to contract extension with Chelsea amid transfer rumours
The deal that Hazard has with Chelsea currently runs till 2020, but the club wants the player to be associated with them for a longer period, with the terms of the contract improved. The first offer that Chelsea made to Hazard gave an opportunity to the player to become the highest paid footballer n the history of the club. However, the Belgian turned the offer down, and it has been reported by RMC, the French publication, that the second proposal has been refused by the player, as well.
Hazard knows that Real Madrid is interested in him, and is probably waiting for the season to end to see if the club coach, Zidane, will make a move to sign the winger of Chelsea. The publication’s report also claims that the Spanish club has progressed with their contract with the player in the past few weeks, and Conte, apparently, is unhappy that their player has turned down the club’s offer. Recently, Hazard joked that he would renew his deal with Chelsea when Thibaut Courtois also committed to the club. Joke or otherwise, the issue doesn’t seem likely to be resolved till the season ends. If Real makes a move for Hard for the summer transfer, then it will possibly be in the place of their trusted player, Gareth Bale, which means that the Welsh national will probably become available.
Hazard has been procrastinating the renewal of the contract worth £300,000 a week, because he is probably hoping to get the deal sealed with Real Madrid in the summer. He has remained the target of Zidane for a long time now, but the top authorities of the Bernabeu club have been reluctant to dole out around £120 M to have Hazard onboard. The Blues have been in talk with the player and his advisers to make him the highest paid footballer in the country.
